Even though he might be new to the South and other parts of the world Nipsey Hussle is no new comer to the grind or struggles of this music industry. 24: At what age did you start recording music?
Nipsey: About the age of 14.
24: Being from the west coast and having so many influential artists to look up to which artists would you say impacted your music career the most growing up? And why?
Nipsey: You know Dre Snoop the kat’s that was doing it around that time Big Pac and a few other artists too.
24: When did you remember feeling like you made it as an artist?
Nipsey: The first time I heard my street single 'Bullets Got No Names' on the radio.
24: It is well documented that you are apart of the legendary gang the Crips are you still affiliated with them?
Nipsey: I still role with the people I grew up with and im still down but I mean i aint active in the streets like I use to be. The music game is legit I be in the studio all the time handling business this music thang is fo real.
24: Has your gang life changed now that you are an established rap artist? Or has it been the same for you?
Nipsey: Like I said I still role with my peoples but it’s changed in the sense that im not in the streets day to day doing what I would do back in the days I got things to handle and moves to make but don’t get it twisted 1 one second.
24: How do you feel about the current state of West Coast Hip-Hop music?
Nipsey: I feel like its changing a lot of new faces these young kats are the ones that are going to keep it going really but you know the west coast is the west coast we here forever.
24: California living is known for its share of weed growth and weed smoke, I hear there are even medical clinics that prescribe marijuana. Can you tell us a little about marijuana in Cali?
Nipsey: You Know we got that its top notch over here we got the best buds.
24: You recently appeared on Green Lantern's Invasion Radio spitting live alongside J Rock How was that experience for you .
Nipsey: Me and J rock known each other for a while so there wasn’t really no set trippen we just wanted to show we can get it in and represent overall it was dope.
24: Can you tell the readers a bit about your album that's coming out 'South Central State of Mind'?
Nipsey: Basically it’s a classic West Coast album but updated it’s definitely still got that West Coast feel with a mess of bangers its classic.
24: How did the record ''Hussle in the House'' come about?
Nipsey: I was in the studio in NY with Sheist Bubs when I heard the beat come on and I was like ‘’I need that’’ I went ahead and laced it the same night and from there it went on.
24: On your new project what producers did you work with? Do you have any special guest appearances?
Nipsey: As far as producers goes I’ve worked with everyone from Jr Rotem to Scott Storch. On the album I worked with a lot of new talent as far as rappers goes only Snoop, Game and also my group the Slausonboys who also got an album coming out in the summer.
24: Are you still on tour with Game? How is that going for you? You started the February 18th?
Nipsey: Everything is good. Yeah it kicks off the 18th in San Diego the first 6 show are actually all going down in LA all the show dates are posted on my website.
24: A lot of artists create their own label or team when they finally reach the industry do you have a company that you've started or a team of some sort?
Nipsey: Yeah I do All Money In All MoneyOut is the name as well as the Slausonboys, my group.
24: Besides the album coming out is there anything else you are doing right now that you want people to know about?
Nipsey: Im working on a movie called 'Blue Laces' it’s coming out around December maybe November after the holidays.
