Rihanna Set to Testify Against Chris Brown if Subpoenaed

Los Angeles, CA – In the ongoing case of Rihanna and Chris Brown, situations are intensifying as the direction it seems to be heading is court. Brown is subsequently being charged for two felonies that include assault and criminal threats stemming from the incident that occurred that Sunday in Los Angeles. Many people are speculating that Brown might plead guilty in order to sustain a plea bargain that could hold a minimal and lighter conviction. The question now is, if this case does make its way to court, will Rihanna take the stand and testify against her rumored husband.

As experts weigh in on the case that has made world news, it is quite possible she will take the stand. Los Angeles defense lawyer and former prosecutor Steve Sitkoff recently commented to People magazine about Rihanna’s possible testimony:

"The DAs are facing an uphill battle now if Rihanna isn't cooperating. At this point, her cooperation can make or break the case. But the DAs may not need her if Brown is willing to strike a plea deal."

Rihanna’s lawyer, Donald Etra, added to the dilemma within the case about his client has he told MTV News that she is willing to cooperate with the District Attorney’s office if need be:

"At this point, she is willing to do anything that the law requires her to do. ... If subpoenaed, she will testify."

When MTV asked Etra about their rumored reunification, he simply answered:

"This is neither the time nor the place to discuss their relationship."

At press time, speculation is still up in the air if either or not Rihanna will even be subpoenaed to take the stand. She states that she will do whatever the law asks her to do, but things might change during the course of the case. Chris Brown has two choices plead guilty accept the plea bargain offered or plead not guilty and take the case to trial. His arraignment has been rescheduled until April. Keep in mind, if Brown is convicted he could be facing up to 4 years in a state penitentiary.

The Dream Recruits Def Jam

Artists for Rockin’ That Thang (Remix)

New York, NY – The Dream’s first single off of his sophomore album 'Rockin’ That Thang', has been making a huge impact amongst the club scenes and the airwaves for quite some time now. It seems as though the self-proclaimed Radio Killa is doing what he does best making those hits.

Apparently, with the remix to chart topping hit, he was pulling all the stops. The ‘Rockin’ That Thang Remix’ has guest features from a plethora of Def Jam artists that include: DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Ludacris, Fabolous, and Juelz Santana. In a recent interview with MTV News, all the artists appearing on the track has something interesting to say about the video shoot and the track itself.

ATL native, Ludacris, added his two cents during his break at the video shoot:

"It's all about making good collaborations and good music in 2009. Def Jam tries to stay family oriented, that's what it's about. We're here to compete. Competition is serious. Not only are we competing against each other, but as a family, we're competing against other families. It's always good to see individuals come together with a lot of craziness going on in hip-hop."

At one point in time, Juelz was thinking on making his own unofficial remix, but Def Jam later asked him to the grace the list of heavyweight features on the hit single. Here’s what he had to say:

"It's a record I heard and loved before I even got on it. I was actually gonna do a little remix, like how everybody do their remixes and put them out. I was going to do it like that anyway, but it was just a blessing that I was asked to be on the remix with a lot of other talented artists. They are all my labelmates, so it's a beautiful thing. Everybody killed it and did their thing."

Fabolous wasn’t aware of the amount of people that were included into the remix, but came out and added his initial verse into the mix as well:

"I didn't know everybody that was going to be on here. They just hit me up and said they were trying to do a remix to The-Dream record."

"I was all for that, that's been out of the game so long. Usually when they remix it, they put one dude on it. This one went back to what they was doing before, and it was working."

The Boss of MIA Ricky Ross even adds his infamous tone into the mix alongside with his Miami brethren DJ Khaled. Ross included some creditable words to the originator:

"I gotta shout out The-Dream, I gotta shout everybody on the remix. Dream is on fire, everything he drops, all those #1 records. The ladies love his swagger. He may be the most prolific writer of recent times, because he continues to churn out classics. You gotta salute The-Dream."

The originator himself even included some words about his remixed hit single and the amount of people the label included into this one. Dream who had a cold during the taping of the video shoot was asleep most of the time, but was still able to add his comments about his hit single:

"I was just trying to do something that hadn't been done since the '90s, where the [guests] were featured more than the actual artists. So I just left my hook on it and added those four guys to it."

"This video ain't about nothing. It's a performance video trying to get everybody else in the same place at the same time. Unfortunately, this is the recession. If it wasn't, we'll probably be in the desert in Iran somewhere. But we're in Brooklyn shooting. Either way, it's still great."

At press time, The Dream’s sophomore LP, ‘Love vs. Money’ is set to be released on March 10. Be on the lookout for an official review on 24hourhiphop.com.
